Hot Box V2- Practice Quick Draw and Speed Knife Timer

The Hot Box By M3 in is a simple to use dual mode timer designed for individual practice for Quick Draw and Speed Knives.

Kit includes:

1 Button Box with mounting bracket

1 Display unit

1 25" Ethernet cable

1 drawstring carrying bag

Directions:

Connect the Ethernet cable to the display unit and Button Box to power on.

Blue Button - Cycle Mode

Green button - Select mode/Reset

Mode breakdown:

Q - Quick Draw. When Q is selected the Hot Box will start Quick Draw mode. The display will go solid to indicate the round it starting, then go dark . After a random time interval from 2-5 seconds the display will go solid again indicating the thrower to throw. Time is displayed when the display unit detects the impact of the knife.

Quick Draw rules vary per organization/competition. Some allow you to start with one finger on the knife (Outlaw), others require thumb on collar bone at start (Blade Aces), Foul line 3m/10'.  

S - Speed Knives. When S is selected the Hot Box will start Speed Knives mode. The display will go solid to indicate the round it starting. When it goes dark the thrower may begin at anytime. When the initial impact is detected the timer will count down from 20 seconds. When it reaches zero a buzzer will sound.

Recommended mounting method:

The display unit of the Hot Box has a device that detects the vibration of the knife impacting the target. This device is extremely sensitive. It's recommended that the Hot Box be at least 24" away from the point zone. To achieve this you may need to mount it to the back board (assuming the target is fixed to the backboard) above the target. Another option would be to affix a board to the target and mount the Hot Box to it. 

Hot Box V1 Breakdown

**The functionality of the V1 and V2 units is the same. The difference is the display type. V1 and V2 Display units are compatible with all button boxes.

Q - Quick Draw. When Q is selected the Hot Box will start Quick Draw mode. The display will go solid Yellow to indicate the round it starting, then go Green after a random time interval from 2-5 seconds. When it goes Green the thrower throws. Time is displayed when the display unit detects the impact of the knife.

S - Speed Knives. When S is selected the Hot Box will start Speed Knives mode. The display will go solid Green to indicate the round it starting. When it goes dark the thrower may begin at anytime. When the initial impact is detected the timer will count down from 20 seconds. When it reaches zero a buzzer will sound.
